Function
The Siemens 3RT2023-1BM40 functions as an electromechanical switch. When the 220 V DC control voltage is applied to the coil, it generates a magnetic field that closes the main power contacts. This allows the flow of current to the connected load, such as a motor. When the control voltage is removed, the magnetic field collapses, and the contacts open, interrupting the power supply. The integrated auxiliary contacts operate simultaneously with the main contacts, providing status feedback to the control system (e.g., to indicate whether the contactor is open or closed).
