Function
The Siemens 3RT7045-1AH00 contactor serves as an electrically-operated switch. When a 48V AC, 50Hz voltage is applied to its coil, it generates an electromagnetic force that pulls the main contacts together. This action completes the circuit, allowing a high-power current (up to 80A) to flow to the connected load, such as a motor. When the control voltage is removed, a spring forces the contacts apart, safely breaking the circuit and de-energizing the load. This functionality allows for remote and automated control of heavy-duty electrical equipment.
