Overview

The Layer 3-enabled SCALANCE XR-500 Industrial Ethernet switches are modular, high-performance, industry-standard switches for the construction of electrical and optical line, ring and star topologies with data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps, designed for installation in 19″ control cabinets.

• Up to 10 electrical and/or optical interfaces with 10 Gbps and up to 48 electrical and/or optical interfaces with 10/100/1000 Mbps
• Fast media redundancy due to the integrated redundancy manager
• Seamless integration into existing corporate networks with support for VLANs, IGMP, STP/RSTP/MSTP, QoS, IEEE 802.1X, and more
• Diagnostics via PROFINET, web, CLI, SINEMA Server or SINEC NMS, and SNMP
• KEY-PLUG for enabling Layer 3 routing and simple device replacement

Design

The SCALANCE XR-500 switches come with a rugged metal IP20 enclosure for 19″ cabinet installation. They include IEC plugs for 230 V AC, LED status indicators, selectable fault signaling, and support for C-PLUG and KEY-PLUG media for flexible configuration and fast recovery.

• Up to 8 SFP+ slots supporting 10 Gbps
• 6x 4-port media module slots (electrical, PoE, or optical)
• RJ45 ports with industrial-grade securing collars
• All Ethernet interfaces support 10/100/1000 Mbps or higher
