Function

The 3RT2625-1AK65 capacitor contactor operates on the principle of precharging. When the contactor is energized, the leading auxiliary contacts close first, engaging the precharging resistors. This allows a limited current to flow, gradually charging the capacitor. After a brief delay, the main contacts close, bypassing the resistors and allowing the full load current to pass. This two-stage process prevents a sudden inrush of current that would otherwise occur, protecting the power network and the capacitor itself.
