Overview

Design

This digital positioner consists of:

• Polycarbonate enclosure with base plate and lid (with/without inspection window)
• Electronics with terminal support for 4–20 mA, HART, PROFIBUS PA, or FOUNDATION Fieldbus
• Non-contacting sensor (NCS) or potentiometer for position feedback
• Pneumatic block for actuating pressure and supply air

The SIPART PS2 supports additional modules:

• Analog Output Module: 4–20 mA position feedback
• Digital I/O Module: 3 outputs, 1 input for limit and fault signaling
• Inductive/Mechanical Limit Switches: NAMUR or mechanical monitoring of actuator limits

All expansion modules are electrically isolated and retrofittable.

Separate Mounting

SIPART PS2 allows remote installation from the actuator, enabling protection from extreme conditions like vibration, radiation, or magnetic fields. Pneumatic and electrical connections are maintained via tubing and cables.
