- Seamless Integration: Specifically designed for seamless mechanical and electrical integration with Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1 contactors (sizes S6, S10, and S12).
- Reliable Performance: Manufactured by Siemens, a global leader in industrial automation, ensuring high quality and dependable performance in demanding applications.
Function
The Siemens 3RT1956-1CD02 surge suppressor works by connecting in parallel with the contactor coil. When the coil is de-energized, the collapsing magnetic field generates a high-voltage spike (back EMF). The RC element acts as a low-impedance path for this energy, diverting the voltage spike and dissipating it as heat. This process protects the coil and any associated control electronics, such as PLCs or relays, from damage. The spring-type terminals provide a reliable, vibration-resistant connection, ensuring consistent performance even in harsh industrial settings.
