Function
The Siemens 3RT2015-1AF02 power contactor is an electromechanical switch that is controlled by an electrical coil. When the 110 V AC control voltage is applied to the coil, it creates a magnetic field that closes the main power contacts, allowing current to flow to the connected load (e.g., a motor). When the control voltage is removed, the magnetic field collapses, and the contacts open, interrupting the power. The integrated 1 NC auxiliary contact provides a signal that the main contacts are open, which can be used for control circuit feedback or interlocking purposes.
