Overview
The Siemens 3RT2344-1AG20 is a robust and reliable 4-pole power contactor, specifically designed for switching non-inductive or weakly inductive loads (AC-1) up to 110 A at 400 V / 40 °C. Part of the SIRIUS 3RT2 series, this contactor is engineered for demanding industrial applications, offering exceptional performance, durability, and ease of integration. Featuring a 110 V AC (50/60 Hz) coil and convenient screw terminals, it ensures secure and straightforward wiring. The integrated 1 NO + 1 NC auxiliary contacts provide essential feedback and control capabilities, making it ideal for a wide range of power switching tasks, including disconnecting loads, power generation plants, and transfer switching.

- Robust & Durable Design: Built to Siemens’ rigorous quality standards, guaranteeing long-term reliability and minimal maintenance.
- Integrated Auxiliary Contacts: Comes with 1 NO (normally open) and 1 NC (normally closed) auxiliary contacts, providing immediate status feedback and flexible control options for interlocking or signaling.
- Easy Installation & Wiring: Equipped with secure screw terminals, simplifying the installation process and ensuring robust electrical connections.
- Compact Size (S3): Efficiently designed in Size S3, allowing for space-saving integration within control panels and electrical enclosures.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for a broad range of applications, including main circuit switching, load disconnection, and transfer switching, enhancing operational flexibility.
- Compliance with Global Standards: Adheres to international standards such as IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-4-1, and IEC 60947-5-1, ensuring safety and compatibility.
- Expandable System: Compatible with a wide array of SIRIUS 3RT2 accessories, including surge suppressors, additional auxiliary switches, and overload relays (3RU2 thermal or 3RB3 electronic), allowing for customization and enhanced protection.
Function
- Four-Pole Switching: Capable of switching four independent lines simultaneously, ideal for three-phase systems with a neutral or complex switching arrangements.
- Load Disconnection: Effectively disconnects various loads or power generation plants from the electrical grid, ensuring safety and controlled power management.
- Transfer Switching: Facilitates seamless transfer between different power sources or loads, crucial for backup systems and power distribution.
- Control Circuit Integration: Auxiliary contacts provide direct integration with control circuits for automation, signaling, and interlocking functions.
Protection & Safety Information:
- Short-circuit & Overload Protection: All connections (main, auxiliary, control) must be protected with suitable measures. Refer to technical product data sheets and configuration manuals for detailed guidance on device combinations (contactor with overload relay or circuit breaker).
- Overvoltage Protection: For control supply voltage, consider suitable power supplies with current-limiting functions. Surge suppressors are available as accessories for coil damping to mitigate opening surges.
Connection Methods:
- Main Circuit (3RT2344): Screw terminals with box terminal. Direct connection to the connecting bar is possible with cable lugs when the box terminal is removed.
- Auxiliary & Control Circuit: Screw terminals.
Compatibility & Accessories:
- Motor Protection: Compatible with Siemens 3RU2 thermal overload relays and 3RB3 electronic overload relays for motor protection (sold separately).
- Auxiliary Switches: The basic unit includes two integrated auxiliary contacts (1 NO + 1 NC). Additional auxiliary switches can be fitted for expanded functionality.
- Spare Parts: Solenoid coil replacement is possible. Only the contacts for 3RT233 contactors can be replaced (specific to 3RT23 series).
- Surge Suppressors: Available as accessories for coil damping (RC elements, varistors, diodes, diode assemblies).
