Overview
The Siemens 3TB4122-0XM1 is a high-performance AC contactor designed for reliable switching of electrical loads. Engineered for industrial applications, this Size 0 contactor is built to meet demanding operational requirements. It features a 208V AC operating coil and is rated for a maximum current of 12A at 400V AC in AC-3 utilization category, making it ideal for controlling motors and other inductive loads up to 5.5 kW. The inclusion of one normally open (1 NO) and one normally closed (1 NC) auxiliary contact provides enhanced flexibility for control circuits and signaling. The robust screw connection terminals ensure a secure and durable electrical connection, simplifying installation and maintenance.

Function
The Siemens 3TB4122-0XM1 contactor’s primary function is to remotely and automatically switch a circuit on or off. When the 208V AC coil is energized, it generates a magnetic field that pulls the main contacts into a closed position, allowing current to flow to the connected load. Simultaneously, the auxiliary contacts change their state (NO closes, NC opens), providing signals for control logic, interlocking, or status indication. When the coil is de-energized, a spring mechanism returns all contacts to their original position, safely interrupting the circuit.
Application
- Motor control for pumps, fans, and conveyors
- Switching of heating elements and lighting circuits
- Integration into automated control panels and machinery
- Start/stop control for industrial equipment
