- Versatile Control Voltage: Operates on a 110 V DC control voltage, making it compatible with various modern control systems.
- Built-in Auxiliary Contact: Includes one normally closed (1 NC) auxiliary contact for feedback, interlocking, or control circuit functions, simplifying your system design.
- Long-Lasting Durability: Part of the trusted Siemens SIRIUS series, known for its robust construction and long electrical and mechanical service life.
Functionality
The Siemens 3RT2017-2BF42 contactor functions as an electromechanical switch. When the 110 V DC control voltage is applied to the coil, it generates a magnetic field that pulls the armature, closing the main power contacts. This allows current to flow to the connected load (e.g., an electric motor). When the control voltage is removed, a spring returns the armature to its original position, opening the main contacts and interrupting the power supply. The integrated 1 NC auxiliary contact changes state in tandem, providing a signal to the control circuit.
