Application

The IM 155-5 interface modules enable the ET 200MP to be connected to PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and PROFIBUS and handle communication between the modules and the higher-level I/O controller autonomously.

The following modules are available:

IM 155-5 MF HF

  • MultiFieldbus for connection to PROFINET, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP
  • Max. 30 I/O modules
  • Max. 1,440 byte inputs or outputs
  • BusAdapter concept for universal connection with various connection systems and transmission media
  • Operation of F-modules and PROFIsafe
  • Operation on active backplane bus
  • Support for security features such as PN Security Class 1

Design

The IM 155-5 interface modules are screwed directly onto the S7-1500 mounting rail. They feature:

  • Diagnostics displays for errors (Error), operation (RUN), maintenance (MAINT) and one Link-LED per port (not for PROFIBUS)
  • 24 V DC supply unit for looping through the supply voltage
  • Protection of interface module against unauthorized access possible using lock, seal or cable tie

The connection system differs depending on the module:

  • IM 155-5 MF HF to PROFINET, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP via MultiFieldbus and pluggable BusAdapters with various connection systems and transmission media
  • IM 155-5 PN BA/ST/HF to PROFINET via RJ45 connector
  • IM 155-5 DP ST to PROFIBUS using 9-pin D-sub connector; one PROFIBUS connector of type 6ES7972-0BB70-0XA0 is included in the scope of supply.
