Application
Analog input modules record process signals such as pressure or temperature and forward them in digitalized 16-bit format to the PLC. They are suitable for measuring voltage, current (2-wire and 4-wire transducers), and resistance, as well as for the connection of resistance thermometers.
Analog output modules convert a 16-bit digital value into a current or a voltage and output this to the process. They are suitable, for example, for controlling proportional valves or small servo drives.
The 30 mm wide I/O modules are especially suitable for use in extremely confined spaces, have settable parameters and diagnostic functions and can thus be adapted flexibly to the respective process requirements.
The following analog I/O modules are available:
- Analog input module AI 4XU/I/RTD, 4XM12
- Analog input module AI 4XRTD/TC, 4XM12
- Analog output module AQ 4xU/I, 4xM12
Design
Due to the screw fastening through the front or side in all mounting positions, there are many many different installation options for the I/O modules, both on even surfaces and on aluminum mounting rails using sliding blocks.
The analog I/O modules feature the following:
- A backplane bus connection (ET connection) with M8 connection technology for connecting to an interface module or further I/O modules
- A power supply connection with M8 connection technology with forwarding
- LED display for the channel status
- LED display for the module status (DIAG)
- Labels for the identification of channels, modules and slots
- Integrated cable tie opening
- Clear labeling on front of module:
- Plain text identification of the module type
- Channel numbers labeling
- Interface designation
- Clear labeling on side of module:
- Article number, functional status and FW version
- 2D matrix code (article and serial number)
- Pin assignment of all interfaces
The modules are supplied with labels for the identification of channels, modules and slots. The labels can be mechanically inscribed using commercially available labeling systems.
