Application
The SIMATIC PN/BACnet LINK connects PROFINET networks to the BACnet building to enable an exchange of data.
This makes it possible for the user to communicate with up to 1 000 BACnet objects.
The configuration is made in the TIA Portal V14 or higher. A corresponding HSP is available to the user. The user has the following options for configuring the communication relationships:
- Import of csv or ede files
- BACnet/IP network scan
- Manual creation
The SIMATIC PN/BACnet LINK has an internal PROFINET switch and can integrate itself seamlessly into PROFINET networks.
Design
- S7-1200-type enclosure, width 70 mm
- Can be mounted on a DIN rail or a control panel
- Connection to PROFINET PN IO networks exclusively via PROFINET by RJ45 connectors
- Connection to BACnet/IP bus via an RJ45 socket
- 3-pin connection of the external 24 V DC supply voltage
- Operation without fans or batteries
- LED for visualizing the operating states of BACnet, PROFINET and Ethernet ports
Function
- PROFINET IO device
- Can be operated as “BACnet Client” or “BACnet Server”.
Functionality specified during configuration; mixed client and server operation possible. - The BACnet server is built by creating BACnet objects (analog and binary input and output objects).
- The BACnet client is built by creating references to analog and binary input and output objects which are located on other BACnet devices.
- Data transmission options:
- Acyclic (programmed from the automation program);
using the “Read/write data record” services - Cyclic (can be parameterized by user in the HSP);
by updating the IO image - Changing values via the COV (change of value) mechanism
- Acyclic (programmed from the automation program);
- Controllers supported: S7-1200, S7-1500, ET 200SP, Open Controller
