SINEMA Remote Connect (SINEMA RC) is a comprehensive server application designed for simple and secure remote access to widely distributed machinery and plants, such as for remote maintenance purposes. The platform enables the secure administration of VPN tunnel connections between control centers, service engineers, and the installed systems. SINEMA Remote Connect allows remote maintenance through environments such as the TIA Portal, without direct access to the corporate network in which the machine is integrated. The individual stations communicate via a rendezvous server (SINEMA RC server), which verifies identities using certificate exchange before allowing access through dedicated SCALANCE industrial routers.

Connections to SINEMA RC can be established using cellular networks, DSL, or existing private infrastructures. The system also supports autoconfiguration, enabling easy integration of SCALANCE M800 industrial routers, SCALANCE S security appliances, and various other communications processors (CPs).
