Overview

The SCALANCE X204RNA enables high-availability industrial networking through support for both HSR (High-availability Seamless Redundancy) and PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol). It connects non-redundant devices into resilient topologies.

HSR Mode

• Enables seamless ring connections without reconfiguration delays
• Frames transmitted simultaneously in both directions
• Allows simple transition between HSR and PRP segments

PRP Mode

• Supports transmission of identical frames over two parallel networks
• No communication loss during individual network outages
• Allows non-PRP-capable devices to connect to redundant networks
