Overview
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT2326-2BF40 is a robust and reliable 4-pole power contactor designed for switching non-inductive or weakly inductive loads (AC-1) up to 40 Amperes at 400V / 40°C. This compact Size S0 contactor features a 110V DC operating mechanism, integrated 1 Normally Open (NO) + 1 Normally Closed (NC) auxiliary contacts, and convenient spring-loaded terminals for quick and secure wiring. Ideal for a wide range of industrial applications, the 3RT2326-2BF40 ensures high contact reliability and meets stringent international standards, including IEC 60947.
Key Features & Function
- 4-Pole Switching (AC-1): Specifically designed for switching non-inductive or weakly inductive loads in circuits like heating, lighting, and distribution systems. Can also be used for disconnecting loads or power generation plants from the grid and transfer switching.
- High Current Rating: Handles up to 40A at 400V / 40°C, providing ample capacity for various applications.
- 110V DC Coil: Features a reliable 110V DC operating mechanism for precise control.
- Integrated Auxiliary Contacts: Comes with 1 NO + 1 NC auxiliary contacts built into the basic unit, offering immediate feedback and control options.
- Spring-Loaded Terminals: Ensures fast, reliable, and vibration-resistant connections, reducing installation time and maintenance.
- Compact Size S0: Space-saving design for efficient panel layout.
- Standards Compliant: Adheres to IEC 60947-1, IEC 60947-4-1, and IEC 60947-5-1 (for auxiliary switches), guaranteeing safety and performance.
- Expandable Auxiliary Switches: Can be expanded with additional auxiliary switches to meet complex control requirements (observe permissible configurations).
- Motor Protection Compatibility: Seamlessly integrates with Siemens 3RU2 thermal overload relays or 3RB3 electronic overload relays for comprehensive motor protection (for AC-3 applications, refer to specialized 3RT23 versions).
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Fulfills requirements for environment category A.
- Coil Replacement: The solenoid coil can be replaced for extended product life.
Benefit
- Enhanced Reliability: Built to Siemens’ high-quality standards, ensuring dependable operation and long service life.
- Simplified Wiring: Spring-loaded terminals offer quick, tool-free wiring, reducing installation errors and labor costs.
- Space Optimization: Compact S0 size allows for more efficient use of cabinet space.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for a broad range of AC-1 applications, offering flexibility in system design.
- Easy Integration: Designed for seamless integration into existing control panels and automation systems.
- Cost-Effective Maintenance: Replaceable coil contributes to a lower total cost of ownership.
- Safety & Compliance: Meets international safety standards, providing peace of mind for operators and installers.
Protection & Configuration Notes:
- Short-Circuit & Overload Protection: All connections require appropriate protection. Refer to the technical product data sheet and Digital/Configuration Manuals for detailed guidance on main connections, auxiliary connections, and control supply voltage protection.
- Overvoltage Protection: 3RT23 contactors can be retrofitted with surge suppressors (RC elements, varistors, diodes, or diode assemblies) for damping opening surges in the coil. Note that damping increases break and delay times.
- Contact Reliability: For switching low voltages (≤ 110V) and currents (≤ 100mA), 3RT/3RH auxiliary contacts ensure high contact reliability, especially suitable for solid-state circuits (≥ 1mA at ≥ 17V).
- Electromagnetic Compatibility: Observe configuration notes in the Equipment Manual when using contactors in environments with frequency converters.
Connection Methods:
- Main Circuit: Spring-loaded terminals with convenient plug-in design for device connector.
- Auxiliary and Control Circuit: Screw terminals.
Operating Mechanism Types:
- Conventional DC operating mechanism.
Accessories & Spare Parts:
- Compatible with a range of accessories and spare parts for SIRIUS 3RT2 contactors and SIRIUS 3RH2 contactor relays. Solenoid coil replacement is possible.
