Overview

SIPART PS2 positioners regulate valve positioning based on setpoint inputs in pneumatic valve systems. These positioners support smart diagnostics, improving reliability and efficiency during both runtime and maintenance intervals. Optional pressure sensors enable extended diagnostic coverage.

Design

The SIPART PS2 features a modular architecture, comprising:

  • Base plate with protective lid, with or without inspection window
  • Electronics for analog and digital protocols: 4–20 mA, HART, PROFIBUS PA, and FOUNDATION Fieldbus
  • Non-contact position feedback (NCS) and potentiometer support
  • Pneumatic connections for air supply and actuation

It can be mounted directly to the actuator or remotely for harsh environments. Optional modules include:

  • Analog Output Module for 4–20 mA feedback
  • Digital I/O Module with alarm signaling and travel limits
  • Inductive or mechanical limit switches (NAMUR-compliant)

All optional modules are electrically isolated and hot-swappable. The positioner may also be installed separately from the position detection module to protect sensitive electronics from extreme conditions.
