Overview
This communication processor allows connection of the S7-1200 as a Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) to a higher-level control system or ST7 control center. Equipped with two WAN interface options—via Ethernet and optional TS modules (RS232, MODEM, ISDN, or GSM)—it supports route redundancy and offers reliable, secure communication over public or private networks. With built-in IPsec VPN, Stateful Inspection Firewall, and compatibility with SINEMA Remote Connect, it ensures secure and configurable remote connectivity. Time synchronization, email/text alarms, and buffering of up to 16,000 data frames further support telecontrol reliability and flexibility in the field.
