Function
The 3RT2625-1AC25 contactor’s core function is to switch capacitive loads in a controlled and safe manner. When the contactor is energized, leading auxiliary contacts close first, connecting precharging resistors to the circuit. These resistors absorb the initial high inrush current as the capacitors begin to charge. A few milliseconds later, the main contacts close, bypassing the resistors and establishing a direct connection, thereby enabling the full current to flow. This two-stage process prevents the destructive effects of high inrush currents, a common issue in capacitor switching.
