Function
The Siemens 3RT7027-1AG05 contactor acts as an electromechanical switch. When the 36V AC control coil is energized, it creates a magnetic field that pulls the main contacts into a closed position, allowing power to flow to the connected load. When the control voltage is removed, the magnetic field collapses, and a spring returns the contacts to their open position, de-energizing the load. This mechanism allows for remote or automated control of high-power circuits using a low-power signal. The integrated auxiliary contacts change state along with the main contacts, providing status feedback to a PLC or control system.
