Function
A contactor is an electromagnetically operated switch used for remotely controlling a power circuit. The Siemens 3TB4001-0XB0 operates by receiving a low-voltage signal (24V AC) to its coil, which in turn closes the main power contacts, allowing a high-current load (up to 9 A) to be energized. When the coil signal is removed, a spring forces the contacts open, de-energizing the load. The built-in NC auxiliary contact provides a signal that is closed when the main contacts are open and opens when the main contacts are closed, which is often used in safety interlocks or control logic.
