Function
The Siemens 3TB4222-0XH0 contactor serves as an electromechanical switch. When the 48V AC control voltage is applied to the coil, it creates a magnetic field that closes the main contacts, allowing power to flow to the connected load. Simultaneously, the auxiliary contacts change state (NO closes, NC opens), which can be used to control other components, provide feedback to a PLC, or create safety interlocks. When the control voltage is removed, the magnetic field collapses, and the contacts return to their original state, de-energizing the load.
