Function
The Siemens 3RT7017-1AG01 contactor serves as an electrically operated switch for a power circuit. Its primary function is to control the flow of electrical power to a load, typically a three-phase motor. When the 36V AC control voltage is applied to the coil, the contactor’s main contacts close, allowing power to pass through to the motor. When the control voltage is removed, the contacts open, de-energizing the motor. The integrated auxiliary contact provides a secondary switching function, often used for feedback to a control system or to interlock with other devices.
