Overview

The Siemens PE408PoE (6GK5408-0PA00-8AP2) is an exclusive modular port extender designed for SCALANCE XM-400 managed switches. It adds 8x 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports, all supporting Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3AT standards. When connected to a separate 54 V DC power supply, the extender functions as a PoE feeding device (PSE), capable of powering PoE-capable devices such as IP cameras, WLAN access points, and VoIP phones.

The PE408PoE supports seamless integration into automation systems and allows tool-free mounting directly onto the base device or another extender. It enables scalable network topologies such as line, star, and ring configurations, and is optimized for high-performance industrial applications.
