Overview

Design

The device consists of a base plate with or without inspection window, a set of screw-type terminals, and pneumatic connections on the enclosure’s right side. It supports:

• 4 to 20 mA signal with or without HART
• PROFIBUS PA and FOUNDATION Fieldbus (FF), IEC 61158-2
• Non-contacting position detection (NCS)

Additional features include:

• Compatibility with gauge blocks, boosters, safety solenoid valves
• Flexible mounting kits for both linear and rotary actuators

Optional Expansion Modules

This positioner can be upgraded with:

• Analog Output Module (AOM): 4–20 mA position feedback
• Digital I/O Module (DIO): 3 outputs, 1 input for alarms and limit signaling
• Inductive Limit Switches (ILS): NAMUR signal monitoring
• Mechanical Limit Switches (MLS): Mechanical fault indication

Remote Mounting

When ambient conditions at the valve exceed device specifications, SIPART PS2 supports remote mounting. The position detection stays on the actuator while the positioner is installed elsewhere and connected via cables and pneumatic tubes.
