Overview

SIPART PS2 positioners control valve movement based on setpoint values and offer extensive online and offline diagnostic functions. These diagnostics can be expanded with pressure sensors to provide enhanced visibility into valve health and operation, helping reduce unplanned downtime and improve overall system reliability.

Design

The digital positioner consists of:

  • Base plate with or without an inspection window
  • Electronics with screw-type terminals for 4–20 mA or 4–20 mA with HART
  • Non-contacting position detection via NCS
  • Pneumatic block with standard 1/4" NPT pneumatic connection and M20x1.5 electrical thread

Optional features include:

  • Analog Output Module (AOM) for analog feedback (4–20 mA)
  • Digital I/O Module with configurable alarms and signal outputs
  • Inductive or mechanical limit switches (ILS/MLS) for position monitoring

The device allows separate mounting of the positioner and position detection unit, which is beneficial in environments with harsh ambient conditions such as high vibration, radiation, or magnetism. The components can be connected electrically and pneumatically for flexible installation.
