Monitoring

The current per output is monitored by the selectivity module; if the set threshold of the output is exceeded, the output is switched off according to a predefined time-current characteristic curve. All other feeders continue to be supplied without interruption. In addition to the output currents, the supplying 24 V input voltage is also continuously monitored. As soon as this voltage threatens to fail, the path with a higher current than the set threshold is disconnected immediately.

Signaling

Signaling of the faulty feeder takes place via the LEDs on the device as well as via a signaling contact. The SITOP PSE200U selectivity modules are available as a variant with common signaling or single-channel signaling. Single-channel signaling outputs the status (connected, disconnected due to overload) of the individual outputs cyclically by means of a serial code which can be read in by a digital PLC input.

Connection and disconnection of the outputs

To reduce the inrush peak current and relieve the power supply, the individual outputs can be switched on sequentially with a pre-defined delay time or load-dependent when the device starts up. Disconnected outputs can also be connected by means of remote reset (24 V input). The prerequisite is that the outputs were not disconnected manually on the device.
