Overview

The ET 200eco PN fail-safe I/O device expands the ET 200eco PN system family. It is incorporated seamlessly into the Safety Integrated concept like with ET 200MP / ET 200SP and ET200pro. It also supports safety-related communication via PROFIsafe. The functional safety is certified in accordance with IEC 61508. It is designed for safety-related use up to SIL 3 according to IEC 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849.

The following fail-safe I/O device with 2x M12 A-coded power connectors and 60 mm width is available:

  • F-DI 8x24V /F-DQ 3x24V 2A with 8xM12 connection

Application

By using the fail-safe I/O device of the ET 200eco PN, it is possible to implement the safety-related application requirements as an integral part of the overall automation. The safety functions required for fail-safe operation are integrated in the I/O device. Communication with the fail-safe SIMATIC S7 CPUs is performed by means of PROFIsafe.

Function

In addition to the general functions of the ET 200eco PN I/O system, there is a special feature of the ET 200eco PN fail-safe I/O device. The F-address is saved additionally in an electronic memory element (E-coding plug), which enables simple module replacement in the spare part scenario.
When a new fail-safe I/O device is inserted, the F-address can be transferred using the E-coding plug. New assignment of the F-addresses with a configuration tool is therefore not unnecessary. This concept simplifies the set-up process and saves time.
