Siemens SIMATIC S7, easy MOTION CTRL 2.1 single license for 1 installation R-SW, SW and DOCU on CD, Class A, 2 languages (de, en), executable on STEP 7 V5.3 SP2 or higher, Reference HW: SIMATIC S7-300/400/WinAC
Overview
- Low-priced package for simple, controlled positioning and simple geared synchronous motion
- For use with any standard variable-speed drive, such as frequency converter or servo drive
- For incremental and absolute encoders
Licensing
- The engineering interface for STEP 7 up to V5.5 is included in Easy Motion Control V2.1 and can be installed without license.
- The function blocks of Easy Motion Control require one runtime license for each CPU onto which they are loaded. Easy Motion Control V2.1 includes a Runtime single license; other licenses can be ordered separately.
You can find more information on the Software Update Service, license types, Online Software Delivery and handling your SW licenses with the Automation License Manager under this link.
Note of product versions
Easy Motion Control is an option for STEP 7 V5.x or STEP 7 Professional 2010/17 for controllers of the SIMATIC S7-300/S7-400 series and WinAC. When using STEP 7 (TIA Portal) to program these controllers, you require the optional package Easy Motion Control (TIA Portal)
Application
Easy Motion Control is a low-cost package for simple, controlled positioning and simple geared synchronous motion of several axes. It is suitable for use with any standard variable-speed drive, such as frequency converter or servo drive
Incremental and absolute encoders are supported.
Possible applications include, for example:
- Single operating axes,
- Positioning/setup axes
- Palletizers,
- Feeder units or
- Material transport
in the following industries:
- Warehousing systems,
- Woodworking and metalworking,
- Packaging,
- Paper processing,
- Food and beverage industry and many others.
Design
Easy Motion Control comprises:
- Configuration and commissioning user interfaces for STEP 7
- Function blocks for controlled positioning and geared synchronous motion.
- Drivers for SIMATIC modules:
The actual position value is input and the setpoint speed is output via modules from the standard SIMATIC range. Matching driver blocks are included with the most common modules. Additional modules can be linked by means of an open driver (see technical specifications). - Drivers for DP coupling to MM4.
- Configuration software for parameter assignment and commissioning:
The handling of the configuration software is supported by an online help. - Sample programs for various applications to make it easier to get started.
Easy Motion Control is executable on all SIMATIC CPUs above a certain performance class (see technical specifications).
Licensing
The function blocks of Easy Motion Control require one runtime license for each CPU onto which they are loaded.
The engineering interface for STEP 7 up to V5.5 is included in Easy Motion Control V2.1 and can be installed without license.
Packaging
- Easy Motion Control V2.x with software and documentation,
comprising- a CD with the software for STEP 7 up to V5.5 and
- a CoL for one runtime license.
- Easy Motion Control without software and documentation, comprising
- a CoL for one runtime license (valid for V2.x and V11 or higher)
Function
Easy Motion Control offers the following basic functions for positioning:
- Move absolute:
The axis moves to the specified position. With rotary axes, the target can be approached in a positive or negative direction or on the shortest possible path. - Move relative:
The axis moves by the specified distance in a positive or negative direction. - Reference point approach, reference setting:
Synchronizes the measuring system with the mechanical system. - Gearing:
Axis moves to a different axis in gearing. - Jog:
The axis moves for as long as the control bit for one direction is present. - Stop:
Stops the motion and brings the axis to a standstill. - Simulation:
A program can be tested in the simulation even if a real axis is not present and no actual values can be read in. - Override:
A factor between 0 und 100% can be applied to the speed of the motion at any time. Acceleration and deceleration are not influenced by this. - Override travel motion:
Any motion block can override any other motion block. The current motion is transferred to the new motion with the specified acceleration or deceleration.
Further function blocks must be additionally integrated into the user program, such as the position controller and input/output drivers.
The Easy Motion Control block is called in a time-driven level, e.g. a cyclic interrupt.
The function blocks of Easy Motion Control have been developed in accordance with the technical specification of PLCopen, “Function Blocks for Motion Control”, Part 1, V1.0.
New functions in V2.1
- PROFINET:
The Encoder SM 338 (FB 25) and Encoder FM 350 (FB 27) blocks now use the SFB 52 instead of the SFC 59. This additionally allows distributed use with PROFINET. - The output driver for MICROMASTER 4 has been expanded, and now supports the motor holding brake function.
