Application
The compact, rugged design of the Cat6A connector makes the FC RJ45 plug suitable for use in both industrial environments and on office equipment. The use of the IE FC Keystone RJ45 (Cat6A) makes it possible to easily transition from rugged industrial cables to patching technology in the control cabinet.
The Industrial Ethernet FastConnect RJ45 plug 4 x 2 and the IE FC Keystone RJ45 permit quick and easy installation of the Industrial Ethernet FastConnect installation cables 4 x 2 (8-wire twisted pair AWG24 cables) in the field.
The Industrial Ethernet FastConnect stripping tool for preparing cable ends (stripping the jacket and shield in one step) allows simple handling and fast, secure fitting of the cable connector to the cable. As all the cable connector parts are captive, it can also be fitted in difficult conditions.
The new plug-in connector enables the implementation of point-to-point links (10/100/1000 Mbps) for Industrial Ethernet between two terminal devices/network components up to 100 m apart without using patch technology. The connection of rack switches (e.g. SCALANCE XR-500) in 19″ cabinets by means of FC installation cables 4×2 and patch cables is easy to implement using IE FC keystone RJ45 4 x 2 in standardized 19″ racks.
Design
The Industrial Ethernet FC RJ45 plug 4 x 2 is available with a 180° (straight) cable outlet.
It is the ideal method of connecting an Industrial Ethernet FastConnect cable to terminal devices and network components. The plug has a rugged, industry-standard metal enclosure that provides optimum protection against faults in data communication.
The eight integrated insulation displacement contacts make contacting of the 4 x 2 and 2 x 2 FC cable variants easy and error-free with the IE FC RJ45 plug 4 x 2. After the stripped cable ends have been inserted in the plug and the excess length of core has emerged on the other side of the enclosure, the enclosure is closed to contact the conductor and cut off the excess length.
Owing to their compact size, the plug connectors can be used both on devices with individual jacks and on devices with multiple jacks (blocks).
Terminal devices with a suitable securing collar on the enclosure provide additional tension and bending relief for the plug-in connection.
The IE FC keystone RJ45 4 x 2 also has a 180° (straight) cable outlet. Thanks to the integrated insulation displacement contacts, the AWG 24 cores of the cable ends that have been prepared with the stripping tool can be contacted simply by squeezing the parts of the enclosure together.
By virtue of its design, the IE FC keystone RJ45 can be easily snapped into 19″ racks or, with a special enclosure (included in scope of supply), installed on a DIN rail in the control cabinet.
Function
The IE FC RJ45 plug 4 x 2 is used to install uncrossed 10/100/1000/10000 Mbps Ethernet connections up to 100 m without using patch technology. Crossed cables can also be installed by swapping the transmit and receive pair in a plug.
The IE FC keystone RJ45 4 x 2 is used to establish Ethernet connections with patch technology and is used in 19″ control cabinets for transitioning from rugged industrial cables to patch cables.
With the casing open, colored markers on the contact element make it simple to connect the cores to the insulation displacement contacts. This enables faulty contacts to be detected and prevented at an early stage.
