Overview

The SCALANCE XB004-2 unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switch is designed for 10/100 Mbit/s networking in small industrial star and line topologies. The SCALANCE XB-000 switch family is ideal for compact network layouts. Their housing allows space-saving installation in control cabinets or boxes on standard DIN rails. Variants include:

• XB005 / XB008: 5 or 8 x 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports
• XB005G / XB008G: Gigabit RJ45 ports
• XB004-1: 4 RJ45 ports, 1 SC port (multimode, up to 5 km)
• XB004-2: 4 RJ45 ports, 2 SC ports (multimode, up to 5 km)
• XB004-1LD / XB004-2LD: long-distance versions up to 26 km (single-mode)
• XB004-1G / XB004-1LDG: Gigabit variants with optical SC ports

Design Features

SCALANCE XB-000 switches support DIN-rail and wall mounting. They include a 3-pin terminal block (24 V DC), grounding, and LED indicators per port for power, link status, and data exchange. Available port types:

• 10/100 BaseTX or 10/100/1000 BaseTX RJ45 (autosensing + autocrossing, up to 100 m cables)
• 100 BaseFX SC multimode (up to 5 km)
• 100 BaseFX SC single-mode (up to 26 km)
• 1000 BaseSX SC multimode (up to 750 m)
• 1000 BaseLX SC single-mode (up to 10 km)

All data connections are front-facing, and the power input is positioned at the bottom.
