Application
The Siemens 3RT2017-1VB42 contactor is the ideal choice for general machine control and automation tasks, including:
- Switching 3-phase AC motors (up to 5.5 kW)
- Controlling resistive loads (up to 22 A at 400 V AC-1)
- Integration into complex control systems, including PLCs, due to its reliable DC coil operation and integrated surge protection.
Function
This device functions as an electromechanical switch. When the 24V DC control voltage is applied to the coil (A1/A2), an electromagnetic field is generated, which pulls the main contacts into the closed (make) position to supply power to the motor or load. When the coil is de-energized, springs return the contacts to the open (break) position, cutting off the power. The integrated 1 NC auxiliary contact changes state simultaneously, providing feedback or interlocking functions within the control circuit.
