Overview
The Layer 3-enabled SCALANCE XR-500 Industrial Ethernet switches are modular, high-performance, industry-standard switches for the construction of electrical and optical line, ring, and star topologies with data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps, designed for installation in 19″ control cabinets.

Design
Optimized for 19″ control cabinet installation with rugged IP20 metal housing. Power supply (85–264 V AC) can be installed rear-mounted or cabled. Each switch offers diagnostics and flexibility in connection technology:
- Direct IEC power plug (variant-dependent)
- 2-pin terminal for signaling contact
- Status LEDs and SELECT/SET button
- Slot for C-PLUG or KEY-PLUG for IP routing and data backup
- Console port for diagnostics
- Up to 8 SFP+ ports (10 Gbps), up to 12 module slots for RJ45/optical connections
